At PMW, Inc., we offer complete pump repair services for condensate, boiler feed, river water, cooling tower, and process pumps, as well as other industrial applications including reciprocating, screw vacuum, vertical, and split case type pumps. We employ skilled millwrights, to insure quality work regardless of size of the equipment. We can provide field inspection, consult with troubleshooting, and provide failure analysis as part of our service to our customers. We can also provide suggestions for the upgrade of materials or parts to extend the longevity of the equipment.
When a pump is received at our shop, the following steps are part of our standard operating procedure: - Digital photos are taken of each pump as it is received
- The pump is completely dis-assembled
- Digital photos are taken of damaged parts as found
- Parts as glass bead blasted (if applicable) before inspection
- We mic all parts and use shop drawings or forms to record all dimensions
- All shafts are checked for straightness
- All boss fits are checked for proper size, concentricity, and squareness
- We do mag particle or dye penetrant testing if needed as parts are inspected
After approval is given to the repair scope, the following are some of the standard steps we perform on every piece of equipment: - All bearings, gaskets, o-rings or oil seals, packing, etc. are replaced
- If new parts are to be manufactured, our in house personnel generates auto cad drawings of all parts before being released to the shop for manufacturing process
- We mic all new or repaired parts to verify the correct size and tolerance with the mating part. These dimensions are also recorded and can be provided in the final report
- We will use the customers paint specs if requested or use our standard coating system (we use a high grade epoxy system as standard)
