Plant Machine Works has the capability to repair other types of specialized equipment. Examples of this are Porcupine coolers and dryers, expander worms and shafts, extruders, and pelletizers. We have also repaired steam turbines and centrifuges, and have fabricated custom or specialized equipment from customer supplied drawings and specifications. Our knowledgeable personnel will work with our customers to provide feedback as to the cause of the failure and possible ideas to improve the life and/or efficiency of your equipment.
As is with our pumps and gear boxes, the following steps are part of our standard operating procedure: - Digital photos are taken of the equipment as it is received
- The equipment is completely dis-assembled
- Digital photos are taken of all damaged parts as they are found
- All parts are cleaned
- Using shop drawings or forms, all parts are measured and readings are recorded
- A thorough scope of work is generated and sent to the customer for approval
After approval is given to the repair scope, the following are some of the standard steps we perform on every piece of equipment. - All bearings, gaskets, o-rings, oil seals, packing etc. are replaced
- If new parts are to be manufactured, our in house personnel generates auto cad drawings before parts are released to the shop for manufacture
- We mic all new or repaired parts to verify the correct size and tolerance with the mating part. These dimensions are also recorded and can be provided in the final report
- We will use the customers paint specs if requested or use our standard coating system (we use a high grade epoxy system as standard)
